2 Years Already!

Well Bentlee's 2nd birthday was a couple of weeks ago and since I'm a slacker mom I'm just going to let it be normal that this post is late as usual. We didn't do a whole on Bentlee's big day but we did take her to lunch with Grandma Sue and Aunt Sam then we let her pick herself out a toy at Walmart, she chose a cute little laptop thing that of course she doesn't even play with anymore, and then she had cupcakes with some of her girl cousins. I can't believe how quick the 2 years went by, I guess time flies when you are having fun. Bentlee is so much fun and already acting like a teenager. I can't wait to see what 3 brings! Happy Birthday Bentlee!

Primm

Every year we go down to Primm, Nevada and stay at the Buffalo Bills hotel and go shopping for school clothes at the outlet mall. It is always so much fun. It's a cool place to stay. We, well everyone except me, ride the huge roller coaster, ride the log ride, go to the magic shop, swim, and of course spend hours shopping. I didn't take too many pics as usual but here are a few!

24th of July Weekend

I made a goal lately to take more pictures even if I am convinced I will never do anything with them. So here are some pics of our 24th of July. We did lots of fun things like: go to lunch, visit the dinosaur museum in St. George, go to Jumpin' Jacks with some friends and let off fireworks. I'm not really in the mood to write a whole lot but here are some pictures of my cute Bentlee to enjoy!

Bentlee loves going to the salon with me and watching all of the big girls get "pity" as she says. She is always trying to get up in my chair and be the center of attention. One after noon I didn't have any clients so I decided to pamper Bentlee a little. I decided to do a couple slices of hot pink so they can show up in her piggy tails. She did so good and sat so still the whole time. It was so fun bond and do big girl stuff with her. I did this a couple of weeks ago and expected the color to wash out within a few days even though its permanent because she has such healthy baby hair but I was wrong! That pink is still showing up pretty good. I suppose it could have something to do with her 45 minute nap under the dryer though :)

What a Pretty Girl

I had to take a pic of Bentlee in her Easter dress before we left for church. She looked so cute! Right after this pic she fell and smacked her head really hard and has the biggest goose egg I've ever seen so luckily I got her just in time!

EaSteR

Easter was so much fun this year. Bentlee was finally big enough to participate in the Easter egg hunt! She just had a hard time wanting to let go of those precious eggs and put them in the basket, she wanted to carry them all! She of course wouldn't really cooperate for any pictures but I did my best!

One more Time!

If anyone wanted to see Twilight but didn't get a chance they are playing it again at the Hurricane Theater at 10:30 am on Saturday March 14th. $5.00 bucks a seat. Proceeds go towards the scouts so come and give your support!

TwIiGht

If you want to see Twilight again before it comes out on video come see it March 7 at 10:30 am. It is a fundraiser for my nephew Hayden and his scout troop so they can go to a scout jamboree. It's $5.00 per ticket and it just goes until all seats are filled. Please come and support the scouts.

4.What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Nervous, I was just thinking "Holy Crap".
5.Who was the first person you told? James told my mom and then I told his mom
6.Did you plan to get pregnant? Not really..
7.Did you tell everyone else right away? Yeah, within a few days even though that wasn't the plan but neither James or I can keep a secret.
8.Was everybody happy for you? Yeah everyone was excited.
9.Did you go out and celebrate? No.
10.Did you want to find out the sex? Yes, there was no way I could have waited until the birth to find out.
11.What was the sex? Girl!
12.Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes.

on your baby? Maybe.
14.How much weight did you gain? I lost 12 from being sick and then I gained like 30.
15.Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Nope.
16.Did you get any stretch marks? More than I've ever seen on any other person ever, it's awful, probably why I can't get motivated to lose weight cause my stomach just looks like a brain anyway.
17.What did you crave the most? ice.
18.Did you crave anything crazy? No, I was so sick I could barely eat anything the whole time anyway.
19.Who or what got on your nerves? Being sick, I had random breakdowns cause I was sick of feeling like crap.
20.Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? No, I had to be tested for diabetes but kept throwing up that sick syrup stuff so they said I probably didn't have it, and they were right.
21.Where and when did you go into labor? The hospital, I was induced
22.Did your water break? No, they broke it in the hospital.
23.Who drove you to the hospital? My husband.
24.Who was in the room when you gave birth? James, and a bunch of nurses.
25.Did you go early or late? It was 2 days before my due date but I wasn't induced I would have been late
26.How long were you in labor for? 27 hours
27.Did you have any drugs for the pain? Of Course
28.Did you go natural or have a C-section? Natural.
29.What was your first reaction after giving birth? After 27 hours of epidural I was pretty out of it and I just remember thinking, oh I have a headache.
30.How big was the baby? 7 lbs 14 oz, 20 inches
31.Did your husband cry? Yes but only because Bentlee didn't breath for 5 full minutes after she born and they had the crash cart out ready to take her
32.What did you name the baby? Bentlee Nykell
33.Does his/her name have any significant meaning? No, I just liked it. My mom almost named me Nykell so I guess that's where it came from even though it isn't actually after someone.
34.Did you have any visitors? Yes, lots of family and friends
35.Did the baby have any complications? No, once she stared breathing she was just fine. She had a tiny bit of jaundice but nothing serious.
36.How old is your baby today? Almost 17 months
37.When is the next one coming? I haven't decided yet, it's a stressful subject right now since James is probably being deployed.
38.If you could, would you do it all over again? Yes.

Superbowl Weekend

So even though the Cardinals lost and we were all bummed we still had tons of fun watching the Superbowl. James grandma had passed away that morning so we were a little bummed but it was fun to have so much family around us.

Ballard Family Christmas Party

Last weekend we had our Ballard Family Christmas Party. We had lots of fun playing Bingo for money, decorating cookies, and doing a treat exchange. Bentlee was acting really whiny for most of the night so being the wonderful mother that I am I finally put her in her high chair with a huge spoonful of frosting. I walked away from her for a minute and since she was so quiet I kind of forgot to check on her for a few minutes. When I came in to see how she was doing she was completely covered in frosting and as happy as could be. I had to give her a long bath when she done but her being happy for a few minutes was totally worth it! Merry Christmas!

VeGaS

James and I went down to Vegas this past weekend for the Ahern Christmas Party. We had a lot of fun. We got to stay 2 nights at the Paris, go to a carnival with tons of free food, eat at PF Changs, go shopping, and mostly RELAX! It was so fun to get away but we also missed Bentlee so much while we were gone.

Veterans Day

So I'm a little late with this post but I just wanted to do a little brag post about my husband. He is a Veteran and that makes me so proud. I know that before James was deployed I never gave Veteran's Day a second thought but now that he is home and knowing what he has gone through I can see that Veteran's Day really is a special holiday and those brave soldiers deserve a day of respect. James is such a good husband and daddy and I'm so proud of the service he did for his country. Love you James!

Happy Birthday!

So Wednesday was my birthday and I was pretty spoiled this year. I was going to put all my new stuff together and take a pic but I can't find the charger for my camera. I got: a jacket, pjs, slippers, Hairspray(the movie), a pedicure, jewelry, lotion and body wash, jewerly, new capes for my clients, money, a cake decorating kit, and lots of cute decorations and probably even more things that I can't remember right now. James also got me Thriller tickets for tonight! It was such a fun birthday. Thanks Everybody!

My Attempt at a Halloween Costume

Now Nicole and Savannah don't start laughing as soon as you look at this. Yes this is my attempt to make a cute DRESS like you guys did for your girls. I screwed up and ended up with kind of a weird looking tutu instead. Oh well I guess. Bentlee is going to be a witch and she is going to wear this with a black shirt and little witch hat. Hey at least she has a costume right?

Delta

Since James has an Elk tag he has been gone hunting the past couple of weekends. This weekend he was going to go to Delta to hunt with his brother, so instead of staying home and being bored I decided to go along with him and just hang out with my sister-in-law Kristi and her cute girls. It was a snowy cold weekend up there so there wasn't a ton to do but we had lots of fun just hanging out and watching movies. We thought it would be cute to put Bentlee and Morgyn in the bathtub together, it didn't quite go how we thought, Morgyn thought it was fun to kick Bentlee and Bentlee just wasn't having it. While they might not be the best of friends right now I'm sure they will be!
