My Attempt at a Halloween Costume

Now Nicole and Savannah don't start laughing as soon as you look at this. Yes this is my attempt to make a cute DRESS like you guys did for your girls. I screwed up and ended up with kind of a weird looking tutu instead. Oh well I guess. Bentlee is going to be a witch and she is going to wear this with a black shirt and little witch hat. Hey at least she has a costume right?

Delta

Since James has an Elk tag he has been gone hunting the past couple of weekends. This weekend he was going to go to Delta to hunt with his brother, so instead of staying home and being bored I decided to go along with him and just hang out with my sister-in-law Kristi and her cute girls. It was a snowy cold weekend up there so there wasn't a ton to do but we had lots of fun just hanging out and watching movies. We thought it would be cute to put Bentlee and Morgyn in the bathtub together, it didn't quite go how we thought, Morgyn thought it was fun to kick Bentlee and Bentlee just wasn't having it. While they might not be the best of friends right now I'm sure they will be!

Staheli Farm

We went out to Staheli Farm with some of James' coworkers from Ahern to take the kiddies on the Haunted Hayride. Unfortunately when we got there it was really windy and the hayride was closed. We still had tons of fun going to the Pumpkin Patch and walking through the corn maze. Bentlee never holds still for pics but here are some attempts at cute photos. You can even see her first black eye in a few of them!

Erica's Wedding

So even though Kyle and Erica were married a few weeks ago I still wanted to post a few pics of the happy couple. They are so cute and so much fun to hang out with. I'm so happy they found each other!

Birthday Girl

So since it was Bentlee's birthday today we decided we would take her to the park and let her play for a little bit. I decided that while we were there we may as well try to get some cute pictures of her to remember the day. I have never been a good or even ok photographer, I know absolutely nothing about how to take a good picture and these pics obviously show that. James took the pics and I tried to get Bentlee's attention. We came to the conclusion that we will never be photographers, and Bentlee will never be a model (not because she's not cute enough but because she just doesn't have the attention span for it). Anyway these pictures are hilarious, we got a few cute ones and quite a few funny ones so I thought I would share.

Happy Birthday Bentlee

So Bentlee's birthday isn't officially until Sept. 24th but with Erica's wedding going on this week I decided to have Bentlee's party a little early. We had cake and ice cream for her on Sunday up at the new park in front of the middle school. The park was perfect for the kids. It had shade, a bathroom, and was very clean, we loved it! I don't think Bentlee was quite sure what to do with the attention that everyone was giving her, she is usually so funny and loud but she was just kind of quiet and sober throughout the party. I really wanted her to just dig into her cake, (which James decorated all by himself, I was really impressed), and make a huge mess like she usually does at home but she wasn't quite sure about it. I can't believe she is already one, I remember bringing her home from the hospital like it was yesterday. It's really exciting but a little depressing too in a way. She has gotten to be so much fun and we love her very very much!

Ouch!

Ok so I know this pictures doesn't look too bad but that's because James is extremely lucky and the injury isn't very bad. James was jacking up a trailer at work and the jack flipped backwards and the handle hit him in the face. Luckily he was wearing his safety goggles (for the first time since he has worked at Ahern) and they saved his eye. I'm so glad he's ok, even though it might be kind of cool to have a pirate for a husband.

Girls Night!

So tonight we had a girls night in honor of Erica getting married. We went to Samurai 21 and had tons of fun! We had the funniest chef, his name was Tommy and he was giving Erica a really hard time, but he made up for it by singing to her and feeding her rice. It was lots of fun to hang out with the girls, I swear it's been forever since I've gone anywhere and done something like that. I'm so excited for Erica, Kyle is such an awesome guy and is totally perfect for her. They are both so goofy and fun. I know that they are meant to be together and will love being married. A big thanks to Kyle for being awesome and making our little Erica happy!

Boys VS. Girls

So my friend Amberely had the idea to do a weight loss challenege with her husband and James and me. It will be boys vs. girls on who can lose the most fat percentage but the time we have our Ahern Christmas party down in Vegas in November. I've gained tons of weight since having Bentlee and it's sick. I have had the hardest time getting motivated to lose weight, I don't know why just the sight of me should make me motivated but it just hasn't. I'm so busy with work, hairschool, and being wife and mommy that I don't have alot of time to work out but I sure am going to work my hardest! We haven't quite decided what the winners are going to get but just the satisfactory of winning not looking so disgusting sure sounds good for me. So everybody wish Amberely and I luck, we are kick those boys butts!

Caramel Apples

My friend Amberley and I had the idea to make caramel apples for family night. Unfortunatley we had a little trouble getting the caramel to actually stick to the apples. Luckily when you have apples, caramel, and yummy toppings you can't really go wrong!

Kolob

Since James just got a new motorcycle and we haven't been to Kolob once this whole summer we decided to make Sunday a "Day of Firsts". We went a ate dinner with James' parents then left Bentlee with them and took a ride up to Kolob. It was lots of fun, other than the fact that the backseat of the bike was rock hard and killed my butt! The weather on Kolob was so nice and refreshing. It was nice to be outside and be able to just relax instead of wondering how long it will take for this heat to actually kill me. I decided that I am actually ready for fall. Having Bentlee is so much fun but it was fun to be reminded of the days when it was just James and I. I really enjoyed having him all to myself for a change!

Ready to Run

Just to prove what I slacker I am, Bentlee has been learing to walk over about the past month and these are the first real pictures I've taken of her doing it. She is 11 months now so she took her first steps and just a little over 10 months. I can't believe how fast she has gone from wobbling around to basically full on running around the house getting into everything!! Things at the salon sure haven't been the same since she started walking, I'm starting to leave her home more and more. Even if she is busy she sure is fun!

I have completed the basics course at Hairitage Hair Academy and now just need to finish my hours. I work at Synic Styles Salon, which is owned by my sister in law who is also a licensed instructor. I decided to do an apprenticeship so that I could bring Bentlee along with me and have a more flexible schedule. California- July 2008

This post is a little late, but hey better late than never. This July we went to California for vacation with James family. We were there for 9 days and had lots of fun. We went to Seaworld, Legoland, DelMar Beach, La Jolla Cove, Old Town San Diego, and The Wild Animal Park. It was Bentlee's first LONG car ride and our first family vacation. Bentlee did such a good job and hardley cried at all, which is unusual for her because she HATES to ride in the car! We had lots of fun and hope to be able to do it again next year!

My Attempt at Becoming a Blogger

So I've been feeling the pressure to start a blog of my own. I have a lot of friends that have blogs and tell me that I need to start one and also I'm not good at journaling or anything like that so maybe this will help me to keep my memories in order. I'm not the best at keeping things updated so we will see how it goes and hopefully it will be a success. If I can even figure this all out that is:)
